I didn't like the unnecessarily explicit sexual bouts, as I thought they really had nothing to do with the plot.
The time when the couple should have been hesitant and awkward with each other - bearing in mind that she doesn't KNOW him or any of them for that matter - they were busy leaping on each other. This had the effect of turning Wait For Me into a pretty normal romance novel in that respect. In my opinion, the author missed a great opportunity to turn this novel into a terrific, fast-paced thriller which could have thrived on the unusual and intricate plot alone. Very disappointing and left me feeling cheated because I actually purchased this book View all 5 comments.
Apr 12, Mei rated it really liked it Shelves: contemporary. The story was sooo intriguing that I couldn't resist reading this book! Who wouldn't? What do you think? Who is the woman? The story is interesting and it should have made a very, very good thriller, but To much time was spent in inner, Kate's or Ryan's, musing about what is happening and why.
At the beginning, Kate's perplexit The story was sooo intriguing that I couldn't resist reading this book! At the beginning, Kate's perplexity about what is happening is interesting and very true. What whould you do if the man who you thought was your husband is not your husband at all?

Stop seeing my dad. Summing it all, the character I liked most was the brother: Mitch! He was funny, not overly complicated, straitforward, obviously gorgeous but, hey, it's a romace novel!
His actions make sense! Well, now you'll ask yourself why the 4 stars View all 43 comments. May 19, fleurette rated it really liked it Shelves: romantic-suspense. This is a pretty good story. The plot is really good. What's even stranger, I really liked it although I usually do not like the idea of amnesia in my books. They are rarely well-introduced and the cause of amnesia is even less likely to make any sense. But in this case it is completely different.
Giraffe Squad - Wait For Me
We meet Kate when her This is a pretty good story. We meet Kate when her husband dies in an plane accident. Kate suffers from amnesia and can not remember anything that happened before two years ago when she came out of a coma. Searching through the documents of her late husband, she discovers that her life before the accident may not have looked the way her husband said.
Kate decides to discover the truth. The picture of problems related to amnesia that Kate is suffering from is done very well. I am very glad that this problem has not been treated sketchily and the emphasis is not even on the mere loss of memories but on the attempt to adapt to a new life and find your place in a new situation. An interesting aspect is her personality change.
I am very happy of these emotional dilemmas and of the fact that the heroine does not enter into old life without problems, as it happens in many other books. I believe that gives more realism to this story. Then when it comes to romance, the feelings between Ryan and Kate change in the blink of an eye, however for some reason they are real. I do not have the impression that everything has happened too fast and I believe in the depth of feelings between Ryan and Kate, especially considering their past that affects their current relationship.
It is quite sappy and somehow does not fit the rest of the book that is not so much melodramatic. All in all, this is a very good story, I totally recommend. View 2 comments. Jan 08, Belle rated it it was amazing. The mystery, the passion, the heartache, the joy This book had me gripped till the very end. Everything you knew about yourself was gone and all that is an empty mind.
What if you had to be told who you were, where you grew up, who your friends and family were. What if you found out you had a son and a husband who had been waiting for you to wake up from a coma that you had been in for months. What if everything they had told you was a lie. This book made me think long and hard, about what it must have felt for Kate to lose every memory she had of herself. I can't even begin to think of how scared and frightened you would be.
The frustration she had in the book when she just wished she had her memory back.

I sincerely loved how we felt everything she did. How we felt her hurt, feelings of betrayal, shock and anger towards the man she had thought she was in love with, who had lied to her from the start. The confused feelings about the man she finds out is her true husband, and the daughter she left behind..
What a story. I loved witnessing the tentative love between Ryan and Kate aka. The absolute heartache Ryan felt when he realised the love of his life could not remember a single thing about him and his daughter cut into my heart. The shock and happiness he felt when he realised both Annie and his son were alive after all this time I give this book a 4.
Really liked this one. First time reading this author.
OK, we might have to suspend the disbelief a bit with the storyline but that's what fiction is all about. Loved the main characters, the cheeky 9 year old daughter, even the little we saw of the mother in law. Great secondary characters in the brother and the lawyer. Have never read this author before but the storyline flowed and of course we got our HEA.
Not sure what her other stuff is like - is it contemporary?

If you can overlook the technical errors such as grammar, improper word usage "alone" when the word is "along," "sinking suspicion" when the popular phrase is "sneaking suspicion" , and 48 uses of variations of the phrase "eyes slid shut," there's still the matter of a hero who is an angry jerk utterly uninterested in comprehending, much less empathizing with, the agony the heroine must be experiencing. She, for her part, is not particularly interested in either standing up for herself or feeling any sense of loss over her life prior to 18 months ago, or, indeed, in soliciting any understanding of her abduction at all, so I suppose it works for them.
My understanding of the plot prior to reading this novel was led astray by the description. It would have been enough to show me differently just to know that the title "Wait For Me" was taken in substance from this demand, "Wait for me so we can "arrive" at the same time. And I wouldn't have wasted energy being aggravated that she could just tell her 4-year-old son, off screen as it were, that, "Oh, hey, your daddy that just died in a plane crash was not your daddy. Here's your real daddy, deal with it on your own. Not that there's anything wrong with trashy novels!
When they're well written and you know what you're getting into from the start. But even after I gave up on the idea of this being anything other than smut, I still had to laugh at Kate's declarations that she "never thought she'd ever have a love like this" or statements to that effect. Yeah, never?
When your life started 18 months ago? You never thought you'd have a relationship like this? The kind where the only thing in life that matters is that man you're lusting? Not your kids with that man? Just the "love"?
Yeah, okay. Jan 07, Kellie Maddox-Ward rated it really liked it Shelves: kindle-freebies. She thinks… Well her friends and husband tell her she does. Married to a successful Doctor for 7 years. Has a beautiful son Reed. A great job. She just wishes she could remember it Kate had a car accident a year and a half ago and now has amnesia. No childhood memories. No College memories. But I'm just not in the mood to read about 2 people who are supposed to be together, love of each other's lives and all that, start off right after scenes for him anyway of having sex with someone else. I get it, I do, but just not in the mood to read that. Jan 02, AJ rated it really liked it Shelves: mystery-suspense , feeeeels , romantic , steamy. Wow, this book took me by surprise.
What an amazing story! After a tragic accident, Kate woke from a coma 18 months ago unable to remember anything of her life before that time. She is married with a young son, she has friends, but she is living a life that is less than satisfying. Her world comes crashing around her when her husband is killed and while going through his paperwork she discovers that her life, and all that she had been told since waking up, is a lie. Ryan is rich, handsome, wildly successful, and a single father to a precociously adorable daughter.
But he, too, is living a less than satisfying life, having never recovered from the death of his wife and the love of his life, Annie, five years ago. I love this story. Seriously love it! There were things that I expected, and others that were a big surprise, but I was mesmerised the whole way through. My heart was pounding through a huge portion of this book, and the big emotional scenes are beautifully played out. OMG, the feeeeels! I think I actually stopped breathing a few times during this book I was so caught up in the awesome. And we look at you and see everything.
He is angry, hurt and full of fear, but from the moment the connection between he and Kate is made, he becomes a different man. Warm, compassionate, freer, he is committed to helping Kate find the answers she is looking for. He is also hotter than all hell, and totally swoony. Their children, parents, and especially Mitch, are all fantastic — and I loved that Mitch got his own little love story in there too!
I thought the kids were pushed off to the side a bit too much by their parents on the positive side, this allowed for a heaps of UST and some sexy time , but their contributions were gorgeous. It became heavier towards the end which, naturally, took away from the love story a little bit.
